Ally Taft is a partner in the clinical negligence department and seeks justice for injured clients who she supports through often one of the most difficult times of their lives. Ally has over 16 years’ experience in her field and was noted as ‘Up and Coming’ in the 2016 Chambers & Partners guide. She is sought after for her expertise in birth injury cases, where she is praised for displaying “enormous sensitivity” and a “wonderful way with the client”. She has achieved multi-million pound birth injury settlements for her clients, sums that are life-changing for the very badly injured children she represents. Ally works on high-profile cases including representing women who have suffered assaults/abuse by members of the medical profession. She also remains involved with a large group action of claimants bringing claims against the breast surgeon Ian Paterson, convicted on 21 counts of malicious wounding. Ally continues to work on fatal cases and represents clients’ interests at inquests and was recently praised by a coroner for her helpful and professional approach, and by a judge for the standard of her work in this area. Passionate about her work and getting justice for those whose lives have been devastated by clinical negligence, she also helps to train and mentor less experienced solicitors within her firm to help them to expand their knowledge further. As well as achieving Law Society clinical negligence accreditation, Ally has achieved Senior Litigator status with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) Areas of Expertise: Birth Injury Oncology Breast Surgery Lack of Consent Medication Errors Orthopaedics Mental Health Sexual Misconduct Surgery
